Writing Prompt – Clarity

This week’s writing prompt is about clarity. When you have clarity, you are clear on more than what your goals are. When you have clarity, you can set your goals better and supercharge how you achieve them. Having clarity is like having a super power! Take some time this week and write about your clarity. Ask yourself these questions… What are you working on? Do you have clarity on what you’re working on? How can you gain more clarity? What are you seeking clarity on?

Writing Prompt – What do You Fear?

This week we’re going to write about what you’re afraid of. Take just a few moments and write down a few of the things that you’re afraid of. Not just things like sharks with laser beams attached to their heads, but things like “failure” or “public speaking” or “getting hurt”. What are some things that you’re not taking action on because of fear? Write those down too. Take some time to write down some decisions that you’re making based on fear too.

Writing Prompt – What are you Ignoring?

The world is a firehose of content and messages. It’s impossible to drink from a firehose, because the water comes out so fast and so powerfully that there’s no way to actually drink from it. Writing Prompt – What do you want?

As we’ve started our new course of study in 2021, we find ourselves reading James 1:5 which states, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” This verse uses “men” to mean “mankind.” Although still patriarchal in nature, this scripture is meant for all people. If anybody lacks wisdom, let them ask and it shall be given them.

Bearing a Powerful Witness

This week in Come, Follow Me we studied and read about Ammon, and his interaction with the sons of Mosiah and King Lamoni. The reading starts with Alma running into the sons of Mosiah as they traveled to the land of Zarahemla. Basically, it had been 14 years, they were out in the wilderness, and had struggled as they had been prompted to teach the Lamanites. That’s when they ran into each other, all headed to teach the Lamanites. The readings then focus on Ammon. There are several things to take away from this week’s lesson, but let’s focus on Ammon’s story.

Following Promptings

In this week’s Come Follow Me lesson, we learn about Alma and Amulek, and their lessons they taught the people of Ammonihah. Alma was trying to teach the people of Ammonihah, but they ridiculed him; they spit on him, made fun of him and his teachings, and basically ran him out of town. He left town, feeling pretty dejected. He was visited by an angel of the Lord, and was prompted to turn back and go into Ammonihah and preach again to the people there. He did as he was commanded, and ran into Amulek.
